Oil filtration comes in many forms depending on the total volume of oil you are treating and the level that you want to achieve during separation. The density differences between the hydrocarbon and the water also plays a role in determining what is the right technology or combination of technologies that will be needed to achieve success. Oil droplet sizes play a significant role in separation. A general rule of thumb can be used, the smaller the oil droplet the more complicated the treatment process becomes.
